The Bendigo Spirit will officially step into finals season on Saturday, as they prepare to take on the Perth Lynx in the best-of-three WNBL26 Semi Finals Series.

Remaining on the road since facing the Lynx in Round 16 at Red Energy Arena, the Spirit have had a jam packed two weeks, travelling to Townsville and then to Syndey for the WNBL26 awards night. They will continue their travels to Perth, determined to prevent the extended time away from home from hindering their on-court drive.

Despite a loss against top-of-the-table Townsville Fire (84-66) to close out the regular season, the Spirit will have a fresh confidence backing them, welcoming back Spirit co-captain, Kelsey Griffin, to the line up, and with superstar Izzy Borlase being named WNBL26 MVP earlier in the week.

Taking on the Lynx, with recently crowned Defensive Player of the Year, Han Xu, in tow, the Spirit will have to dig deep to establish themselves as front runners in this Semi Finals series, as the reigning Champions fight to defend their title.

With the Lynx holding the upper hand in the team’s last two meetings, the group will back their ability to take the lead in Saturday’s match. However, with WNBL26 Coach of the Year Kennedy Kereama guiding the Spirit squad through their finals campaign, the Bendigo team are not one to be underestimated and will be ready to fight until the final buzzer.

In a Semi Finals series which is sure to have both fans on the edge of their seats, the Spirit will look to land themselves in front for the first of three games.
